Our community was founded in 1969. After realizing the idea of turning the area into a ski resort wasn't viable, the owner decided to sell off lots which ultimately resulted into the private community it is today.

Our community was founded in 1969. After realizing the idea of turning the area into a ski resort wasn't viable, the owner decided to sell off lots which ultimately resulted into the private community it is today.
Within the Silverleaf Community there are approximately 60 homes and 80 empty lots (some of which are for sale). For many, Silverleaf is home away from home; a place to escape to and reconnect with the natural beauty that abounds. While for a few lucky folks, it's their full time residence. A few part time residents offer their homes for rent throughout the year.

Silverleaf lies at the North Carolina/Tennessee state line, between Boone and Mountain City, TN along
US Highway 421.
From the gate entrance both downtown Boone and Mountain City are approximately 15 minutes away.
Both areas offer many amenities & attractions.
Appalachian State University is in downtown Boone.

Due to our elevation (@4-4,500 feet), we often experience unique weather conditions that our neighbors Boone and Mountain City do not.
Duing the winter months (November-March), We strongly recommend you check the weather a few days before visiting, Mother Nature is fickle in these parts!
